Our client in Toronto is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team! The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing electrical design, and modelling capabilities for construction projects in the large commercial and industrial, and utility sectors.
Responsibilities:
Work as part of the project teams in the execution of large solar and energy storage design-build projects
Design electrical single line diagram and installation details using AutoCAD
Familiarity with design and operation of power systems ranging from 480V to 35kV distribution and transmission systems
Experience in protection control, relay coordination, arc flash analysis and other LV, MV, HV system designs
Knowledge, interpretation, and application of Canadian Electrical Code, National Electrical Code and applicable energy codes
Knowledge of one-line drawings, elementary and wiring diagrams, equipment specifications (including transformers, MCC, switchgear, substation equipment), power plans, conduit plans, cable schedules, system studies and protective relay settings
Ability to interpret client specifications, and preparation of engineering reports
Production of detailed drawing and specifications (AutoCAD)
Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required
Attend commercial and industrial sites and observe all applicable safety regulations
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Qualifications:
Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution, PE Designation Required
Prior experience in consulting for an owner or EPC contractor is preferred
5+ years relevant electrical engineering and design experience, renewable energy and energy storage experience is preferred
Experience AutoCAD, ETAP, Excel, Word, Project and a working knowledge of OESC, CEC, NEC, UL, IEEE, OBC, NFPA, etc.
Ability to interact, as part of a team, with all types of clients and teammates, manage time well and build relationships
Fluency in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills
