Job Summary:

Our client is a consulting engineering firm, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba who has earned a national reputation for the skillful application of engineering principles to achieve elegant, yet cost-effective and durable solutions. Their expertise in structural engineering has been demonstrated in a broad scope of projects, to include detailed structural engineering, construction inspection & supervision, assessment & investigation of defects, deterioration, duress & collapse and building envelope investigations & remediation.
 
Our client is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team to work directly with architects, project managers, government, industry and corporate/individual owners to suit their client’s unique and specific needs. 
 
Job Duties:
  • Lead structural engineering team to ensure effective and successful delivery
  • Plan and identify structural engineering resources
  • Coordinate and manage the execution of activities and report progress
  • Provide leadership and resolution on technical issues with the structural discipline
  • Participate in the preparation of specifications, structural analysis and design, calculations, bill of materials, as well as coordinate with all project team members (interdisciplinary)
  • Participate in the review consultant designs
  • Liaise with internal pre-construction teams as required
  • Provide construction support, including preparation of Field Instructions, change orders and response to RFIs
  • Conduct site inspections (interim and final)
  • Other duties assigned
Job Qualifications:
  • Recognized degree in Structural Engineering required
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in good standing in the Province of MB, registration in other provinces is an asset.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency to prioritize, multi-task, organize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Must be detail oriented, analytical, a problem solver and a critical creative thinker
  • Ability to work independently and perform at a high level of accuracy
  • Capacity to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license
