Our client's Winnipeg office has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lead Bridge Engineer to join their growing and dynamic team of transportation professionals servicing local municipal, provincial and rural clients in Manitoba as well as clients throughout Canada and the US. This position will assist the Bridge Structure effort in Manitoba and requires an individual to have a solid bridge design and management background while also demonstrated excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

Design (preliminary and detailed) of bridges and other structures related to various highway, transit, and rail projects in accordance of relevant and applicable specifications
Supervise the work of structural analysts and designers for a variety of transportation structures
Carry out quantity calculations and cost estimating
Prepare contract documents, reports, proposals
Prepare and presenting information to clients and the public
Provide direction to junior and intermediate designers and technical support staff
Collaborate using relevant tools with colleagues in our multi-disciplined design offices
Project management duties and quality review of design drawings
Undertake overall construction strategy; analysis for construction stages, conditions, and loadings; design of temporary works; development of procedures and sequences; geometry control, and on-site construction assistance
Create strategies for design-build projects. Teaming bridge designers with experienced construction engineers and construction personnel at the design stage
Constructability Reviews during the design of conventionally procured projects
Understanding of Accelerated Bridge Construction assignments, whether in a design-build or conventional procurement
Provide construction engineering expertise on the design team
Develop and Assess complex/innovative construction schemes
Work with contractors during the submittal development and review process
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. M.Sc. and/or PhD degrees would be an asset.
Registered (or eligible for) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Manitoba
Minimum of fifteen (15) years of bridge design/management experience
Strong knowledge of AASHTO and CHBDC specifications
Working knowledge of Transportation Association of Canada’s Geometric Design Guide for Canadian Roads.
Experience in Project Management and Construction Administration
Experience in a bridge technical lead role
Experience in report and proposal preparation
Working knowledge of CAD software and collaborative tools such as Autodesk, BlueBeam
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with City of Winnipeg/Manitoba Infrastructure design details and specifications
Experience in structural inspection, condition surveys and construction supervision is an asset
