Job Summary:

Our client is a global manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products. It comprises 12 businesses each with a major chemical company heritage. Its production network spans 51 manufacturing facilities in 11 countries throughout the world. They are the supplier of choice for many of the largest customers in the market, and would like you to join their team!

Job Duties:
  • Maintain mechanical integrity by completing required inspection and non-destructive testing
  • Non-destructive testing on new construction and existing facilities,
  • Inspection input for planning routine maintenance and turnaround jobs,
  • Direction on field inspection activities in new and existing facilities, including emergency repair activities and off-site inspections
  • Inspection consultation and guidance to engineers and others as a state-of-the-art liaison with operating, maintenance, engineering and technical employees on a day-to-day basis,
  • Develop and maintain required records and documentation of equipment inspection record databases
  • Ensuring that ABSA inspection and documentation requirements are met.
  • The key responsibility is to ensure the mechanical integrity of the facility is maintained, meeting regulatory requirements as well as government and engineering standards, codes and best practices.
  • Non-destructive testing on new construction and existing facilities and off-site inspection as required
  • Inspection input for planning routine maintenance and turnaround jobs,
  • Direction on field inspection activities in new and existing facilities, including emergency repair activities,
  • Inspection consultation and guidance to engineers and others as a state-of-the-art liaison with operating, maintenance, engineering and technical employees on a day-to-day basis,
  • Formal written reports, memos and recommendations and maintenance of required documentation of equipment inspection databases.
  • Inspection of incoming parts and equipment as required
  • Continuously seek opportunities to increase equipment reliability
  • Other duties, as needed
Job Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of inspection experience
  • ABSA In-Service certification • API 510 qualifications or National Board certification. Experience as a visual inspector.
  • Materials Engineering Technologist certification or equivalent (Pipefitter or Welder with inspection experience)
  • Working knowledge of government regulations and codes and engineering specifications, codes and standards
  • Very good software skills required. Experience with Ultrapipe and API's RBI software a definite asset.
  • Experience with various NDT techniques. Asset if CSGB or ASNT qualified for RT, MT, PT, UT. * Will be managing contractors performing NDT.
  • Experience with weld procedures, vessel and pipe repair, tank testing/inspection and repair, alloys and paint coatings, non-metalic materials and liners, cathodic protection, failure investigation and troubleshooting.
  • Self motivated, well organized, able to work independently, and ability to drive projects to completion on a timely basis and manage multiple and changing priorities.
