Senior Project Leader - Environmental Remediation

Our client in is looking for a Senior Project Leader for their Environmental Due Diligence & Remediation Group in either their Mississauga or Toronto, Ontario office.

This individual will take on a central role in the management of large-scale, multi-year contaminated site and Brownfield redevelopment projects.

Our client is looking for someone with an environmental assessment and remedial background with very strong project management skills.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:
•    Client facing, including: communicating with multiple stakeholders, clients, and various levels of municipal and provincial government representatives
•    Coordinating staff, various subcontractors and suppliers, and internal leaders in order to schedule resources for assigned projects
•    Leading the initiation, planning, execution, and closing of assigned projects
•    Prepare and manage project budgets
•    Developing and communicating project schedules and updating the Director, Real Estate Due Diligence on progress, successes, and challenges
•    Prioritizing and delegating project tasks using effective communication
•    Providing project specific support to technologists and scientists
•    Tracking time and costs for projects and making adjustments to the project plans as necessary
•    Site visits as deemed necessary for optimal planning and communication
•    Work with staff in the Finance department to review WIP and invoice preparation

Required Skills and Qualifications:
•    Degree or Diploma in a related field to Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation from an accredited institution
•    10+ years of experience in contaminated site project management, particularly involving Brownfield projects
•    A PMP designation
•    Previous work experience in consulting engineering – Environmental, Civil, or Architectural Technology
•    Strong problem solving skills with excellent judgement
•    Proven ability to communicate with various stakeholders and clients as well as provide staff with effective guidance and mentorship
•    Prior experience with managing a “mega-project”
•    An exceptional attention to detail
•    Deadline driven and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
•    Can work effectively and keep a team motivated under pressure
•    Demonstrate good time management and record keeping habits
•    Exhibit proactive thinking, self-motivation, and flexibility
•    Possess influence and initiative
•    Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office
