Senior Hydrogeologist

Kitchener, ON

Our client in the Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario region is looking for a Senior Hydrogeologist to join their team!

This individual will work on private and public construction projects involving infrastructure related and municipal hydrogeology, including:
•    Municipal infrastructure (waste water treatment plants, landfills, well fields, sewers, and gas lines)
•    Foundations
•    Underground structures
•    Subdivisions
•    Lot severances
•    Septic systems
•    Water supply
•    Nitrate and chloride impacts

Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
•    Prepare and review work programs, proposals, as well as reports in the capacity of a Senior Engineer / Professional for various hydrogeological and technical studies to document existing conditions and support permit applications (PTTW/EASR)
•    Provide senior technical support and mentorship to other hydrogeological professionals and technicians during completion of a variety of projects and proposals
•    Apply in depth knowledge of engineering to the completion of complex and difficult projects under your responsibility
•    Work with project managers to ensure that projects are set up and executed in full compliance with quality standards and regulations
•    Review conceptual models based on collected data and analyses
•    Maintain existing and develop new client relationships and business
•    Serve as a senior Engineer / Professional for hydrogeological projects, designs and deliverables

Requires Skills and Qualifications will include:
•    A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Earth Sciences or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution is required
•    A Master's degree will be considered an asset
•    10+ years of experience
•    P.Geo or P.Eng designations a must and should be in good standing with APGO or PEO
•    Experience in a consulting engineering firm
•    Able to effectively present ideas and technical information in a clear and concise manner in oral and written form; other languages (French and/or Spanish) are an asset
•    Experience in Environmental Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering would be an asset
•    Excellent technical leadership and mentorship skills
•    Ability to effectively establish and maintain internal and external client relationships
•    Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues, consultants, contractors, and clients
•    Willingness and ability to travel throughout Southern Ontario
•    Strong computer skills would also be a plus point, and at a minimum should include all Microsoft Office components, incl. ACCESS
•    Experience with numerical surface water flow modeling (hydrology packages: GAWSER, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, MIKE11, or Feflow) and GIS (Quantum GIS) is considered an asset
