Strategic Advisor Infrastructure

Our Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Consulting client in Toronto, Ontario is looking for a Strategic/Technical Advisor with an emphasis on Project Management and Risk Management to join their team for both Public Sector and Private Sector clients

Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Provide Public Sector authorities with strategic and technical advice for the procurement and capital expenditure of their infrastructure programs and projects
• Working within infrastructure advisory, supporting clients on technical aspects of project delivery
• Project management mandates for clients
• Undertaking site visits, reviewing construction progress and payment certification
• Drafting technical reports and project audits
• Drafting procurement documentation
• Identify and manage risk for both internal and external mandates
• Input into the preparation of proposals
• Providing support to other disciplines and offices, as required
• Internal project management (including budgets) and reporting
• Support to business initiatives and projects

Required Skills and Qualifications will include:
• A post-secondary degree in a relevant field
• Technical experience and knowledge within the Canadian construction industry / built environment
• Familiar and proficient with project management processes. Recognized qualification such as PMP favorable
• An understanding of the P3/AFP model and experience in schemes in this market is favorable
• Experience in a construction monitoring/review role
• Experience of projects in multiple sectors (buildings, rail, transport, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience of Risk Identification, Management and Mitigation
• Bilingual in both English and French is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of leading and working within a team
• Excellent written and presentation skills
• Able to work independently and unsupervised at times
• A keenness to grow client relationships and expand existing mandates; an
• Positive attitude, team player
• Willingness to travel within Canada and USA as required
