Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building Systems

**** you must have MECHANICAL BUILDING SYSTEMS experience **** Our client in Edmonton, Alberta is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Building Systems to join their team! **** you must have MECHANICAL BUILDING SYSTEMS experience **** This individual will provide technical and business development expertise and leadership to the Mechanical Engineering practice within our Buildings Engineering group. Projects will vary in size ranging from small commercial developments to major research laboratories and healthcare facilities. Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Lead the mechanical design process on major projects of various size and complexity. • Maintain and grow current business and client relationships (emphasis on Healthcare and Education Sectors). • Deliver solutions and troubleshooting to support the mechanical team on client and technical issues. • Mentor and train junior staff members. • Provide input to the Discipline lead and management team on formal and informal training, recruiting and retention of staff. • Represent company at Client meetings, conferences and formal presentations as may be required from time to time. • Participate in the QA/QC process and assist in developing /implementing continuing improvements. • Prepare and review specifications and reports. Required Skills and Experiences will include: • Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited university. (A senior R.E.T. with equivalent experience and abilities may also be considered for this role.) • P.Eng designation with APEGA or another province in Canada preferred. (A limited to license practice engineer or RET will also be considered.) • 10+ years of Mechanical design and business development experience in complex commercial and institutional projects such as Health Care, Post-Secondary teaching facilities, primary and secondary schools and commercial multi use and office developments. • Sound knowledge of business development activities and well respected in the industry. • Sound knowledge of Canadian building codes and standards. • Experience implementing sustainable design/LEED®projects is an asset. • LEED®accreditation will be considered an asset. • Experience managing major projects with minimal supervision. • Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of project construction and delivery methodologies. • Experience in PPP projects is an asset. • Sound verbal and written communication skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations. **** you must have MECHANICAL BUILDING SYSTEMS experience **** Our client is a global top 50 Engineering Consulting firm.
