Intermediate Traffic Engineer - Civil Transportation

Our client is currently seeking a highly motivated intermediate level Traffic Engineer to join their Municipal Transportation Design Group in Ottawa, Ontario! Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Performing traffic impact studies; • Performing transportation master plan studies; • Performing environmental assessments for transportation facilities; • Perform functional and preliminary design • Parking studies; • Traffic data collection/analysis; • Traffic calming studies and safety assessments • Prepare reports including: traffic counts, calculating growth rates, trip generations, assessing traffic impact at access locations/nearby intersections, and compiling recommended roadway improvements Required Qualifications and Skills will include: • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineer – with concentration in Transportation Studies • Minimum of 5+ years of work experience in traffic/transportation engineering • P.Eng designation or the ability to register with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) • Field or Site work experience (surveying, inspection, GIS) • Experience using Highway Capacity Manual and Canadian Capacity Guide methodologies • Knowledge/Experience with the following software: Synchro Ver. 8 Traffic software, Rodel-v1Win (Roundabout software), AutoCAD/Civil3D, Microsoft Office Suite • Must have strong communication skills • Must have strong technical writing skills • Must be independent displaying a high level of commitment Our client is an engineering consulting group specializing in land development and municipal projects.
