Director Business Development - Oil & Gas

Our client is looking for a Director of Business Development for their Oil & Gas Upstream division in Calgary. This individual will be the main client contact for the company’s Canadian Upstream Business. Working with the marketing group and business centres, this individual will help develop business strategy and planning to grow the portfolio of business and projects in Canada. Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Develop future business opportunities and maintain current clients • Set the strategic direction for the Upstream subsector • Develop the business plan for the Upstream business in Canada • Establish revenue goals • Evaluate areas of opportunity for the group • Communicate Upstream strategy and plan • Monitor project execution metrics and liaise with clients appropriately • Provide high level guidance and direction to business centre/projects as required • Oversee development of proposals, coordinated by the Marketing or Business Development group • Monitor and respond to the corporate metrics data • Coordinate with multiple offices (Canada and US) to forecast appropriate resource levels • Support recruitment and resource management strategies as required • Provide regular (typically monthly) status updates to leadership • Develop your Successor Required Skills and Qualifications will include: • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree, higher level Technical Diploma, or equivalent, is preferred • Extensive client contacts in the Upstream business, who influence project execution and engineering service awards • Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas, engineering, and project management • Minimum 10 years of experience of consulting engineering experience in an EPCM environment • Demonstrated understanding of the Upstream sector at a strategic business level • Proven leadership of a business unit, including: financial statement responsibilities, business plan responsibilities, and customer service responsibilities • Experience working in the midstream Oil & Gas industry, particularly in Western Canada • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with clients on all levels, including business development, proposal development, management and execution • Genuine team player with a high level of initiative and self-direction • Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Our client is a highly reputable global multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm.
