Senior Community Health Specialist

Our client in Mississauga, Ontario is looking for a Senior Level Community Health Specialist to join their team! This individual must be a natural leader who is able to develop and nourish lasting relationships with the community. This individual will help to develop and deliver economic development initiatives in Community Health. Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Developing & maintaining respectful relationships within communities; • Preparing participation and procurement planning contributions for proposals; • Overseeing local participation and procurement on project teams by acting as a liaison between project managers and field leads as well as community service providers; • Leading outreach and negotiating service agreements with communities and businesses; • Developing and maintaining a database to manage corporate information on local participation and procurement efforts; • Supervising support staff; • Project Reports on deliverables/requirements; • Conduct Social Impact Assessments • Develop and implement community health programs and presentations on environmental issues • Create policy, system and environmental changes • Gather information for internal and external reports Required Qualifications and Skills for this position will include: • A University degree in community studies, social sciences, public or business administration, or equivalent • 7+ years of experience at a senior management level; • 10 years+ experience working directly within the community health industry • Previous experience and knowledge of the geotechnical and environmental consulting business; • Knowledge of procurement and contracting; • Strong health and safety awareness; • High level experience in proposal, presentation and report writing; • Good planning and organization skills and a demonstrated ability to handle a fast-paced consulting environment, as well as multiple project assignments and teams; • Strong analytical, excellent communication and team-building skills; • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams; and • Knowledge of public health principles and practices • Must have Business Development, Client Development/Management, and Work Winning skills Our client is an award winning company that strives to be the leader in environmental and ground engineering in Canada and worldwide.
