Field Construction Coordinator

Our client is looking for a Field Construction Coordinator to join their team in Calgary! If you would like to join one of Canada’s largest energy companies please consider the following description: Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Responsible for all aspects of construction once design, procurement and regulatory aspects are complete • Overall supervision of pipeline and or facility construction • Primary field contact in charge of communication and administration of construction work plans between the Facilities Department, contractors, operations, land department, surveyors, regulators and other field related parties • In charge of monitoring and providing “hands-on” direction to contractors to ensure that specifications and cost, schedule and quality expectations are being met • Responsible for planning and execution of capital construction projects • Participates in construction planning • Makes independent decisions on work methods and procedures as required on the worksite • Devising practical and economical solutions to problems • Participates in the development/design phase of projects and will be responsible for the construction and commissioning stages • Reviews construction packages to ensure completeness upon receipt, and then executes construction and commissioning plans • Ensures adequate field staff are available / in place to execute plan • Manages constriction costs • Makes responsible decisions involving the direction of construction work based on established practices and procedures and with regards to specific construction projects • Outlines work, advises on constructability or construction related matters, may review work for compliance with corporate expectations • Responsible for speaking to, documenting and assisting with third party, government and regulatory representatives and public contacts as required in the permits, land acquisition documents and agreements • Initiates Workplace Safety programs including site control, emergency response and worker indoctrinations • Coordinates and documents site work using permits, ground disturbance procedures, hazard analyses, tail gate meetings, and frequent task inspections • Initiates Quality Management programs including material control, welding procedures and other task procedures, testing, inspection, reporting, as-building and data gathering • Will be responsible for having a good understanding of the applicable regulatory codes and standards, procedures, practices, policies and specifications; Required Qualifications and Skills will include: • Minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Pipeline, and Oilfield Facility Construction Inspector experience • Competent in the supervision of oilfield work • Familiarity with oilfield facility and pipeline construction practices and procedures related to: • Project Planning and Coordination • Manpower supervision and communication • Safe Work practices as outlined by Occupational Health and Safety • Cost control • Pressure piping fabrication and assembly • Pipeline construction and installation • Quality planning • Document management and data control • Material receiving, identification, traceability and storage • Inspection and testing • Ground Disturbance • Contract administration • Familiar with Electrical and Instrumentation • Experience with operation and maintenance of oilfield production equipment • Experience with planning, coordination and execution of facility inspection/repair turn-around • Willingness to travel from field to office Our client is one of Canada’s largest energy companies.
