Our Client is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager with experience in plant commissioning and start-up to act as instigator and executor of logistics and purchasing functions from conception to implementation for their brand new manufacturing facility. During the Pre-Commissioning phase, you will be responsible for the following: - Developing and implementing the global supply chain strategy for the plant; - Ensuring that purchasing and logistics management comply with applicable legislation by developing and implementing purchasing, receiving, shipping and inventory management processes; - Negotiating raw materials, freight and product storage contracts; - Recruiting and building a highly skilled Packing and Expeditions team to work with the company through start-up and beyond; - Developing operating procedures for coordination of all functions under your responsibilities; - Creating and implementing a training plan for the team prior to start-up During the Post-Commissioning phase, you will be responsible for the following: - Planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling all functions related to the supply chain logistics and warehousing for the plant; - Coordinating purchasing and manufacturing schedules to match demand planning; - Sourcing new vendors and maintaining relationships, including negotiating and coordinating pricing; - Managing vendor invoices, savings, performance metrics, and government filings; - Managing the department team with respect to recruiting, attendance, health and safety, performance management, training and development; - Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the operations and budget of the department The ideal Candidate will possess the following: - B.Sc focused on Supply Chain Management (preferred), Logistics, or Engineering; - A minimum of ten years' experience in supply chain and logistics; - International and Domestic shipping experience; - Experience with inventory databases, ERP software; - Experience in supervising plant employees for 24/7 operations; - Experience in plant commissioning and start up; - Experience in Integrated Management Systems (ISO:9001. ISO14001); - Familiar with Food grade constraints and HACCP environment; - Exceptionally strong communication skills; - Ability to travel internationally Our client has won multiple awards for their commitment to sustainability and environmental initiatives.
