Construction Electricians (Substations/Power Systems/HV)

Our client is seeking Construction Electricians (High Voltage)/Power Systems Electricians (Journeyman, 3rd 4th year apprentices) for career opportunity based out of Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta. If you have well-rounded experience building new substations, equipment upgrades, wiring, etc., then this career opportunity may be ideal for you! Job Duties & Responsibilities: • Participating in the construction of substations and equipment maintenance and upgrades • Working with High Voltage (HV) equipment including: transformers, switches and circuit breakers • Responsible for the equipment and installation in 13.8kV and 500kV substations • Assisting with various day-to-day tasks involving substation construction • Installing time sensitive network and power cabling (connections, location, and documentation of all circuits) • Performing preventative equipment maintenance (scheduled, unscheduled and emergency requests) • Performing maintenance, testing and predictive inspections on substation equipment • Developing work scopes, draft procedures and performing routine repairs as required Qualifications: • A valid Power Systems Electrician Journeyperson ticket OR valid indenture in the Power Systems Electrician trade • Installation and maintenance experience of 13.8kV to 500kV electrical components • Valid Class 5 Licence • Comfortable working at heights • Willing to travel • Meet Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol testing requirements Our client is a leader in providing commissioning and construction services to the High Voltage Industry with clients throughout North America.
