Our client is looking for multiple Junior to Intermediate level Municipal Engineers or Analysts to join their team in either their Waterloo or Collingwood, Ontario locations!

This individual will provide technical support for our client’s growing consulting projects in Canada for Indigenous Peoples, Governments, and Resource Industry clients.

Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Apply state-of-the-art GIS-Internet decision support systems (including, in-house tools) for water resources, environmental assessment and cumulative effects projects
• Assist with the preparation of Watershed Planning, Subwatershed Planning, Storm Water Management (SWM) Reports, Municipal Servicing and Functional Design Briefs and in support of our engineering design teams
• Assist with site reconnaissance tasks, including scoped field surveys, Low Impact Development (LID) performance and other watershed monitoring investigations
• Assist with the preparation of expressions of interest, proposals and final reports in support of engineering project submissions
• Assist with the completion of SWM facility/pond, channelization and other water resources design projects through to approval
• Assist with completion of cost estimates, specifications, and contract administration for water resources, municipal infrastructure and land development projects
• Assist with the coordination of sub-consultants for specified projects
• Understand Ontario’s review agency and project approval requirements for land development and municipal Class Environmental Assessment projects
• Assist with project presentations, including Public Information Centres, Open Houses, Municipal Committees and Municipal Councils

Required Skills and Qualifications will include:
• Degree in Geography or Environmental Science or Civil Engineering with a water resources or environmental sustainability focus
• 3+ years of experience post-graduation
• Strong background using GIS (including, Map Window ArcGIS) and AutoCAD
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models, such as Visual OTTHYMO, SWMM and HEC Geo-RAS, would be assets and including Canadian project experience
• Water quality modeling experience and knowledge of environmental database software
• Self-motivated, highly organized individual capable of producing results and meeting timelines
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
• Strong budgeting skills with high regard for cost control
• Refined analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and clients
• Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast paced, high change environment
• Good initiative and attention to detail
