Our client in
Hamilton, Ontario is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Land Development
to join their team as a part of their ongoing growth strategy.

The ideal candidate will be a strongly entrepreneurial and
passionate Professional Engineer who will be capable of overseeing multiple
projects and leading the expansion of an existing department.

Typical projects encompass subdivision and site plan
applications, land development /stormwater management design, site grading,
site services, etc. for single and multifamily residential developments.

Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited
to:

• Provide technical
and corporate supervision of design of civil engineering projects from planning
through completion

• Estimate work load to establish completion dates

• Oversee design engineering for subdivision projects in
accordance with municipal, regional and provincial standards

• Complete civil site and municipal engineering projects,
report preparation (including Functional Servicing Reports and Stormwater
Management Reports) and review of technical specifications

• Have exceptional planning and organizational skills,
coupled with the ability to manage multiple projects through all stages from
analysis, through to design, construction, final project inspection and
assumption by Owner/Municipality.

• Ensure co-ordination of utility installation for the
projects with local utility companies

• Liaison with clients and project design team, including
sub-consultants in other fields (landscape architects, environmental,
transportation and electrical consultants)

• Be a life-long learner who enjoys mentoring others and
sharing knowledge within the engineering team. Provide guidance and mentorship
to junior team members

• Possess high-level interpersonal skills, along with
excellent communication abilities, both in written and verbal situations.

• Be a flexible individual, who would have no problem working
simultaneously on various types of work from one day to the next.

Required skills for this opportunity include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

• P.Eng designation through PEO, or eligibility to register

• 15+ years of experience in the engineering consulting
industry focusing on residential site development and subdivisions

• At least 5 years in a management role

• Solid Technical background in Land Development engineering,
especially Stormwater Management (SWM)

• Interpersonal Skills and the ability to interact positively
with clients, staff, and city hall

• Business acumen, business promotion, business development,
and construction management skills are not required, but will be considered an
asset

• Experience with Microsoft Office, CIVIL 3D, and various SWM
model software

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience in technical writing of deliverables including
work plans, reports project correspondence as required

• The ability to identify work priorities and function with
very little supervision

• Capable of working in independent and team environments and
using an innovative approach to engineering and problem solving.

• Must possess a strong detail-oriented work style and an
accommodating and proactive attitude
