Our client in Philadelphia, PA is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Healthcare building systems to join their team!

This individual should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer all mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems or products for a project.

Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Leading the MEP engineering design team
• Leading the HVAC design and providing mark ups for junior engineers
• Reviewing and sealing of their projects
• Developing job specific discipline specifications independently
• Working and coordinating with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines for coordination of the project
• Performing field work independently and leading a group of engineers and designers
• Performing calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software
• Meeting with clients and reviewing projects as required
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Group Leaders and/or Director of Engineering
• Assisting other Senior Engineers with engineering duties on large complex Healthcare / Institutional projects in order to complete client projects
• Developing project scope, budgets, and design approach for all sizes of projects
• Guiding and mentoring junior staff; including lead engineers, engineers, designers, and co-ops
• Assisting with development of design standards as required by senior staff
• Assisting PM’s with the development of proposal for smaller less complex projects

Required Skills and Qualifications will include:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• 20+ years of experience in mechanical engineering/design
• 10+ years of experience on healthcare projects
• PE license in the State of Pennsylvania, or ability to register
• Ability to meet NCEES requirements for licensure in other states is required
• LEED accredited professionals is preferred
• Strong presentation and interview skills
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Detailed understanding of all phases of architectural / engineering document production
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE and other mechanical codes
• Strong ability in performing mechanical HVAC
• Be assertive in communicating and discussing engineering issues
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal
• Ability to engage in multiple tasks concurrently
• Must communicate design issues and solutions well with the design team and clients
