Our Architectural/Interior Design client in Toronto, Ontario is looking for a Commercial Business Development Leader to join their team!

This individual will work closely with Design Sector Leaders, and be responsible for the development, growth and leadership of the Commercial division. This individual must have strong market knowledge, external marketing skills, the ability to work with key consultants and contractors, and overall be able to contribute to the development of the practice.

Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Steward client relationships
• Identify, develop and negotiate regional, national and global accounts and contribute to strategies that enhance existing accounts
• Be a work-winner to the commercial team through industry networking
• Engage colleagues and communicate the needs of the client to bring the right strategic solution
• Show a commitment to excellence and high standard of internal and external communication and brand representation
• Collaborate with internal partners in development of commercial contracts while adhering to company processes for proposals and contracts
• Solicit and manage input from others to create an integrated solutions proposal
• Articulate company’s creative design processes and service solutions
• Collaborate with the management team in the development of goals and marketing strategies for the commercial group
• Liaise with Commercial Design groups across region/sector opportunities
• Enhance client contact, business and social events to promote the company
• Act as company representative at client and industry functions, conferences and seminars

Required Skills and Qualifications will include:
• Degree or diploma in business, design or other relevant course of study
• 15+ years of experience in business development of the commercial market
• ARIDO, CORENET, ULI or other industry association membership
• Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills
• Has established relationships and is respected in the commercial community
• Possess the personality, experience and ability to effectively lead, challenge, and inspire the staff to work together cohesively as a team and be regarded as one of the best Design teams in Canada/US within the Commercial market sector
• Proven ability to manage multiple opportunities, priorities and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated experience in a variety of sub sectors; workplace, retail, hotel
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities
