Our client in sunny Van Nuys (San Fernando Valley – Los Angeles County), California is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Building Systems to join their team!
This individual will be involved in projects such as educational, institutional, and commercial buildings with a focus on healthcare projects.
Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Provide mechanical design expertise and management of projects either as part of a project team or independently
• Coordinate with other disciplines in achieving design solutions
• Build and maintain successful relationships with clients
• Manage the project budget, schedule and resources
• Coordinate client/project design team consultation with multi-disciplinary teams
• Develop and guide team staff in broadening and strengthening their technical skills and project management capabilities
• Mentor junior team members in an effort to help develop them into respectable mechanical engineers and technologists

Required Skills and Qualifications will include:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in a mechanical design and project management of buildings related projects
• PE license in CA preferred or ability to obtain registration
• Must have healthcare and project experience, with OSHPD experience desired
• Experience with other architectural project types, such as higher educational, institutional, mixed use and commercial facilities
• Consulting engineering experience and work with architects, contractors and end clients
• Have a keen interest in working with multi-disciplinary design professionals including engineering disciplines and architects and interior designers
• Proven ability to deliver a wide variety of project scopes on time and budget
• Ability to manage multiple priorities is a must
• Working knowledge of computer programs and web-based applications such as AutoCAD, Revit (asset), proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Sustainable design knowledge and LEED ® project experience are definite assets
