|Our client is currently seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer for a role in their Kingston, Ontario location. If you have previous structural engineering experience with a focus on Bridge work, than this opportunity may be for you!|
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
•Structural analysis of bridges using SAP 2000.
•Bridge and culvert inspections, condition surveys and site supervision as required.
•Providing assistance to Sr. engineering staff designing a variety of projects (ie. Bridges/culverts).
•Preparation of engineering service proposals, technical specifications and reports.
•Preparation of contract drawings, documents and specs for the design/rehab. of bridges.
•Acting as liaison with clients, government/ regulatory bodies and contractors.
•Oversee the work of engineering interns and technologists and provide guidance to Jr. staff.
•Providing contract administration and site inspections.
•University degree in Structural/Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence.
•Experience with AutoCAD, SAP 2000, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, and MS Office programs.
•Experience conducting routine/emergency structure investigations and multi-span new bridge/rehabilitation design.
•Extensive knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and knowledge of bridge construction practices.
•Knowledge of MTO standards, guidelines and manuals (Structural Manual, Rehab Manual, Integral and Semi-Integral Manuals, Structural Steel Coating Manual, CDED Manual).
•Familiar with planning, foundation design, and road design;
•Creative thinker with a keen eye for details.
•Ability to work as part of a team, with clients and other stakeholders.
•Possess a valid driver’s license/access to a vehicle with valid registration/insurance.
•Strong written/verbal communication skills in English (French considered an asset).
